Portfolio - JSF fighter

JSF fighter is a 2.5D fighter game, inspired by the very old, but very cool game Raptor: Call Of The Shadows. The game is written for OpenGL, but the viewpoint is fixed, therefore called 2.5D. The game features a simple multiplayer mode through TCP/IP.

Status

Unfinished

History

I developed the game in the fall of 2003 as a fun project for my roommates and me. The game uses models that can be created with Valve's Worldcraft level editor, which allowed my roommates to create their own fighters and enemies. The game has no real purpose, other than to shoot the never ending stream of enemies coming at you. The game can be played through TCP/IP over a local area network.

Technical details

The game uses OpenGL and SDL, which allows it to be compiled under both Windows and Linux. The models used in the game are built using a custom made Valve Worldcraft .map format compiler.

Pressure building on my soul
I ask God to take control
Guide me through this fucked up world

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why, why, why
Can't it be, can't it be mine
